Over hundreds of years of studying living human beings, the most fundamental discovery of oriental physicians was that the human body had seven powerful energy vortices, called chakras, invisible to the naked eye and very real.

“Chakra” is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk. Each of the seven major vortices are associated with specific glands of the human endocrine system. Oriental physicians say each chakra “governs” the glands which produce the hormones that regulate all of the body’s functions.

Per ancient eastern beliefs (Ayurveda, Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine), every human body has subtle life forces or energy centers in chakras moving inside us. In a healthy body, each of the chakras spins clockwise at great speed, moving life energy (called “chi” or “prana”) upwards and throughout the endocrine system.

When any of the chakra energies become slowed or blocked in any way, the associated hormone producing glands, and their physical and emotional responses also become dysfunctional. The imbalances manifest as dis-ease. These imbalances can also impede soul’s primary purpose as it presents in our dominant chakra.

The Seven Chakras:

1. The ROOT Chakra is located at the base of the spine. It is the center of our foundation and supports us growing up with a sense of safety and security as we explore our life aspects. When we successfully ground and anchor our energy to the Earth our survival safety is ensured; our elimination, skeletal and lymph systems and adrenal glands function well, our height and weight are appropriate, and we feel secure, prosperous, and energetic.

2. The SACRAL Chakra is located in the lower abdomen area in the region of our sacrum and reproductive organs.  Closely connected to the five physical senses and our emotional aspects, it is the center of our creativity and sensuality. Successfully embodiment of this creative life force is seen in sound function of the ovaries/testes, lumbar plexus, and gut-brain. It is demonstrated by an absence of self-punishment, fragile self-worth, guilt-ridden, withdrawn and “stuck” behaviors.

3. The SOLAR PLEXUS Chakra is located in the solar plexus area and is considered our “personal power” center where we stand in the authority and authenticity of Self. This dignity, confidence, security, self-assurance and respect help transform positive energy to fuel the body, support the digestive system, pancreas and manage the metabolism.

4. The HEART Chakra is located in the center of the chest at the level of the heart.  This empathic center of connection and integration is said to bridge the lower chakras of physical manifestation with the upper chakras representing the metaphysical/spiritual and earthly worlds. Unconditional love that opens us to beauty, compassion and acceptance that promote health of the cardiac plexus, thymus gland and heart-brain connection.

5. The THROAT Chakra is located in the throat area and is the center of expression and communication that regulates our self-expression and its truthfulness. It requires we be grounded. Brilliant at frequency-matching, when grounded, we see a healthy cervical plexus, thyroid and parathyroid nerves complimented by approving, encouraging, and liberating behaviors.

6. The THIRD EYE Chakra is located in the center of the forehead between the eyebrows slightly above the bridge of the nose. Also called the “Ajna” chakra meaning “command”, it refers to the higher understanding that guides us in our actions. When we are alive, attentive, systematic, calm and relaxed our bio rhythms are optimal and our pituitary gland and carotid plexus healthy.

7. The CROWN Chakra is located at the crown on top of the head in the area of the soft spot on a baby’s head. This crown connects us to the Oneness and is our gateway between the material self and the divine self. The complexity of this chakra is reflected in the intricacies of the brain and central nervous system (CNS) of the body. When we succumb to illusions of separation from Oneness, e.g. loneliness, fragility, apathy, confusion, detachment, and disconnection, our pineal gland, entire CNS and brain are affected and will manifest dis-ease accordingly.

Seven chakras are located in the body. Their location ranges from the root of the torso up to its crown. When chakra energies become slowed or blocked, various corresponding imbalances and dis-eases are witnessed in the health of our physical and emotional bodies.

Optimum chakra health is required for our holistic wellness and for healing energies to be continuously channeled throughout our body. Balanced chakra health serves to support all aspects of health for our body, the physical container that is home to our spiritual body. Chakra health supports both physical and spiritual wellness.
